Most Helpful Positive Review Works great with a backpack

I tested this with a pack during a 4 mile hike in 40F weather. It left an excellent impression, being comfortable, warm and light weight. It breathes very well too, thanks to the side panels of a lighter fabric.

Excellent jacket

Love this jacket. The price was great too. Very comfortable with sporty color combo. Fits perfectly. Bought for my husband. We all love Patagonia products. It came on time. Shipped very quickly.

Avid outdoorsman

Why does Patagonia change their size/fit every year? My 2016 R2 large fit perfect while the 2017 R2 large I just ordered/received fits like a medium! They did this with the R1 too. A Patagonia representative confirmed this issue with my when I called them, advising they received numerous complaints. Also why do they alter between thumb cuffs/no thumb cuffs every year? Who is the genius making these extremely poor decisions on a once great product? I've never had thsee issues with Mountain Hardwear, Arcteryx, The North Face, etc. I'm NEVER buying Patagonia again!

Different cut than a few years ago

The materials are good quality though the cut is a bit snug under the arms now compared with the R2 jackets I bought a few years ago.

A Bit Disappointed

I already had an R2 from about four years ago. The new one came and it is disappointing to see how they have cut corners to save a buck. No fleece in the neck, none on the cuffs, and even less on the side panels. Won't be buying anymore of these. For what they charge, shame on Patagonia.

Great jacket

Love this jacket, very warm and very soft. Fit is great with an athletic cut. No boxy fit here. I've been wearing on a daily basis for the past 2 weeks and it still looks brand new.
