While I haven't used the jacket for its purposes yet, from the feel of it I can tell it is just what I'm looking for. Having owned rain jackets made my Marmot, REI, and Mountain Hardwear, I like the feel of this one the most. It is the lightest that I've had and I like its ability to be packed into the pocked, acting as a compression sack, so to speak. Purchased for a 2-week hike of the JMT and I'm thinking it will work well in the inevitable downpours that occur in the summertime.
