Yak Wool? Yes!

I already own several merino wool shirts, but I had to try this. This shirt is made up of 65% yak and 35% tercel. The combination is very soft. There is no itch whatsoever. One thing to note is that the sizing is different than most companies. I am a size small in most outdoor brands such as smart wool and patagonia. However, the small was too small, and the medium fits me well. (I'm 5'8 and 145lbs). So plan on sizing up. The shirt is quite long. In fact, an inch or two longer than my other t-shirts. I don't need a shirt this long, but it's not an issue. Most of the time it is tucked in my trousers. It's a nice baselayer. Is it better than merino wool? That's hard to say. They are very similar. If you are curious, give it a try.
Pros:
  • soft
Cons:
  • Sizing is a bit off
Best Used for:
  • HIKING
Would recommend: Yes
