Not enough light. earlier versions are better - Petzl E+LITE E02 P4 Headlamp

This is a review for the 3rd generation of this light. I emailed Campsaver and confirmed that the picture at the time of this review (with the retractable cord) is does not match the product you will receive.
The retractable headlight has been replaced with a wider band, like the Gen 1. The band is long, which might be nice if you are using a helmet, but too big otherwise. It flops against the back of my head like a ponytail, and I have a pretty big head. 3 white LEDs from Gen 1 & 2 have been replaced with a single LED. It is advertised as having almost double the lumens of the older versions (50 vs. 26), but is actually dimmer in the center due to the wider flood type light. I own and prefer the 1st generation.
I LOVE the very intuitive switch and small size, but not the light quality. If you own one of the earlier models, I would stick with what you have.
If you are looking for your first ultralight headlamp, maybe see if you can try it out somewhere first. Otherwise, I would look for a different headlamp that takes CR2032 batteries.
Pros:
Lightweight
controls
Cons:
dim
Would Recommend:
No
