Most Helpful Positive Review Great combo with the gri-gri.
The Petzl Freino, a three-ounce auto-locking belay biner that really works best with a Grigri, is outfitted with an “integral braking spur” on its spine. Belay as usual with a Grigri clipped to the main biner. When it's time to lower, clip the brake side of the rope through the wire gate.

The best option for use with a Simple or Stop

I use the Freino with a Simple for caving (large or small drops; it works with both). It has never failed me, and provides enough friction and control. Lockoffs are quicker with this combination than a rack, and it makes rebelays easy. I highly recommend it.

The best

This binner doesn't crossload and is give much more control for lowering. I know that lowering isn't really that hard but this makes it much better.
Clearly it isn't the cheapest binner on the market but it is the best combo when using a Grigri.

Don't know how others lower without this. The redirect is really helpful especially when used with a grigri and bigger climbers.
