To fit the sawyer inline filter directly, I would recommend Platypus to change the design by reversing the male/female connect so the filter can be directly plugged in instead of adding another set of connectors to add it on.

Awesome new version

I have the first edition, too. Never leaks, always tastes great. New features I love are a widget to close the ziplock, a handle to hang the bag from, and easy removal of the hose.

Have used it hiking and mountaineering up to 14000 feet.
