Couldn't disagree more with the review below... - Platypus GravityWorks 2.0L Water Filter Complete Kit

I've used the GravityWorks 2.0L Filter System on many desert and mountain multi-day trips and have come away rating this piece of gear as my absolute favorite! It excels while hiking along the trail or when a base camp is a established.

Typically my trips consist of hiking in 10 miles, camping, next morning gathering up camp, and hiking 10 more for 7 or so days. I seldom basecamp (day hikes from a central location). Most of my filtering occurs during the day while hiking and typically I find small shallow pools along the way, especially in the desert. The 2.0L bag is excellent at 'scooping' up water using the stiff zip-lock rim of the bag. I do drag in dirt and other debris, but all of that settles at the bottom of the bag and doesn't hurt the filter. When I'm with my water pumping buddies I'm usually done several minutes before they are. I personally believe this is one of the best solutions for on-trail filtering of water.

Don't be deceived! This is not a basecamp only filter! It has fulfilled all of my needs and I consider it a near perfect product. It's fast, easy to clean (reverse the flow for backflushing improves the flow rate significantly), light (I've gotten mine down to 6oz), and no pumping! I would HIGHLY recommend it!! I would give it 10 stars if I could...
