This is much more of a performance piece than I was expecting - like an inside-out softshell. I'm often between sizes so went up a size since it's a jacket, but I don't think I really needed to - it's generous in the shoulders and arm length, which is usually my issue (I'm a tall, small chested size 10 and I got a Large - a medium would be fine, too, I suspect).
