Lucky M.'s Review of prAna Stretch Zion Pant - Men's

Outdoor Gear Lab rated Prana Stretch Zion Pants the best pants for hiking, but I have to disagree, and now I have to wonder if I can trust OGL anymore. First, the Zion pants are too tight in the thighs and a big snug in the butt. Most long-distance hikers have large thighs and butts, so this is an issue. Also, the pockets are too small - good hiking pants should have a large thigh pocket to hold a map or thin guidebook. I have some REI hiking pants that have such a pocket and it is so handy to keep my maps within reach. I do like the Zion pants' slim built-in belt - but why do they also have belt loops? Hikers don't wear belts and don't need belt loops, yet nearly all hiking pants have belt loops - ?
