First off, the Helix is made in the USA. There is quality in the product. The light globe glows in the dark, so that can easily be found and is removable, so that it can be used as a flashlight. The legs adjust to keep it stable or place in the neck of your shirt/ pocket of jacket so that you can use it hands free. The legs also give you the option of hanging from a cord in the top of your tent, which is of benefit. I also like that it has the red light option if I don't want to loose my night vision sight. It does feel heavier that what most people probably would want to carry backpacking, but I personally think the weight is worth what you get. It also has a lock on the switch to help prevent the accidental turn on and running down the batteries while in your pack. The only bad thing about the light is the price, but if you shop around, you can find it below $30.00 and is well worth that.

I have only used the lantern on one weekend trip so far however I am very pleased with the performance and functionality that it offers and it was very user friendly! I'm sure it will turn out to be a great addition to my collection of camping must haves .
