Although it took a few tries to nail down the fit, I am extremely happy with the Rab Bergen Jacket. I have other Rab jackets, namely a Latok Alpine that I use as my back country hard shell and a size L has always worked fine.However, I needed a size XL in the Bergen. They've updated it recently, and the new version runs smaller. Upon returning to lift serviced skiing, I found that I needed a burlier shell for staying warm while riding the lift in stormy conditions. I like this jacket because I'm 6'3" and its long enough to do the job. The jacket is a good mix between light weight and strength. The hood is comfortable and works well. The color looks good for casual wear.

I recently picked this jacket up on clearance and am relatively pleased with my purchase. It's very lightweight and well constructed. In fact, it's only 1 ounce heavier than my very lightweight Columbia rain jacket. Fortunately, the fabric feels more like cloth, and less like plastic.
