The fabric is not too light and not too heavy, with an interior that is uniquely soft as it's woven into the structure. Minimal stretch out after wearing. The fit is more of a mid rise and works well for me as I have a short rise. The length was a perfect 31" on a large. Since there are 3 snap adjustments on the bottom, they could be tightened if they are too long. I normally wear a 12 in US sizing and the large was perfect. I can bend, squat, etc. and I don't have to pull them up. The pockets and placement were the main reason I was drawn to them. My iphone fits in the pocket on the leg front and the other two pockets are very deep. Zippers on the pocket prevent bulging while standing and when you sit down for a slimming fit. The number sizing is in UK, so if you can get over the higher numerical UK size you'll love them. I cut tags off anyway, to reduce irritation. Three secure snaps at the waist, soft interior waistband with no elastic (yay). The belt is removable, so you could replace it with a stretchy belt if that's your preference. I like the belt, but do tie it shut when washing in a machine so it doesn't come out, hang dry and they dry fast. I love them so much that I bought both colors and a second set a size smaller to fit when I drop weight in the summer.
