I lost my Marmot Zeus down jacket and needed a replacement. I liked the Marmot Zeus a lot and thought of just ordering another, but it wasn’t as warm as I wanted it to be (on some really cold days at the top of the mountain, I needed my UA cold gear, my Patagonia down sweater AND my Marmot Zeus to stay warm). So I ordered the Ghost Whisperer hooded down, the Marmot Quasar hooded down, the EB hooded Stormdown, and the Rab Infinity Endurance. The Rab was significantly warmer than the other 3 and exactly what I was looking for. It has a lot more fill, so I probably won't be able to fit the Patagonia down sweater under it and still put on my shell. But I doubt I’ll ever need to. As mentioned in other reviews, there are only two things I don’t like about it (minor annoyances more than major issues): 1) It zips up on the opposite side like a woman’s jacket (I’ll have an alteration shop fix this, which will then make it pretty much perfect), and 2) there is a thin wire in the front of the hood to keep it’s shape, which makes it a little trickier to compress into a small shape. All in all, though, this is an awesome jacket (my wife has the Marmot Quasar jacket for women, but she now wants the female version of the Rab Infinity). As others have mentioned, the cut could be more flattering (they seem to get it right on the women's jackets, but not the men's), but this is my ski jacket and meant to keep me warm, so fashion is less of an issue.
Of the other 3 jackets, they are pretty equivalent in warmth. If not for the Rab, I would have chosen the Marmot Quasar because I liked the styling better. The Ghost Whisperer came in a close second but the black was too shiny and had a garbage bag look to it. The EB wasn’t flattering at all and even if it were, it wasn’t of the same quality construction as the others, so it went back quickly.
