Fly-weight, super warm space suit.... - Rab Zero G Jacket - Men's

I purchased this as a light-weight take-a-long for trips when weather can be unpredictable. Spring and Fall can bring 20-40 degree shifts in wheather between one day to the next in the Midwest U.S., and the front range. The Zero G is a perfect solution. First and foremost, the fit is outstanding. I’m an athletic 6’1” and weigh around 173lbs; the jacket fits as though it was tailor-made for my frame. If you’ve ever worn an Arc’teryx Cerium, the fit is very similar. Unlike the Arc’teryx and similar fly-weights, however, the zipper on the Zero G inspires much more confidence. The 7d Quantum shell is remarkably wind resistant. I was concerned about the durability of such thin skin, but it seems remarkably resilient...though I’ve not wrestled with any tumbleweeds in it—and I would expect to see a feathery mess if I did! The 1000-fill down abundantly fills the baffles, and provides immediate warmth. Yes, it is significantly warmer than an 800-fill Down Sweater or other jackets in that class. It’s also very slick looking. The shell has a nice sheen to it. There are less expensive jackets that will provide you the same level of warmth, but none have the same amount of style and weightlessness.
