Ricky D.'s Review of Rambo Bikes Savage Electric Bicycle

I bought two of these in early September 2020. One from Opticsplanet, and one from Campsaver because I had a coupon for each. They were supposed to ship within days from the factory. They both shipped over seven weeks later even though I was charged over a month prior by both companies as both were apparently told they would ship over a month before they did. One arrived with a broken display that was shattered in a shipping box that was not damaged in any way that would justify or indicate a shipping event so they seem to have shipped it with a shattered screen from their warehouse. Awesome. The other has issues with a grinding noise and slipping/stripping loss of power when going up even slight hills. I know I'm not skinny but I'm well within the rated weight. I paid to have both bikes professionally inspected and tuned when they arrived and set up by a very well-reviewed professional bike shop. They've been around forever and the owner is a good guy who frequently charges less than estimated for shop work. They told me that one of the bikes was so poorly assembled it would have potentially broken or been damaged through use. They said the other was pretty good and in the usual state for a new bike. I filed a warranty for both bikes and began trying to work with Rambo Customer service. It was awful. Honestly, so awful. They kept ghosting and dodging and saying they were going to ship me the broken display, when they bothered to reply, which made the brand new bike unusable. They kept quoting me a "should ship this week" and then not updating me or returning my emails when the time came and went each time. They then told me one week that they had finally confirmed the arrival of the shipment they've been waiting on with their warehouse department and told me again that it "should ship this week" but, of course, it didn't. When I followed up after that time to find out what the problem was now, they said they were waiting on the shipment of parts to arrive. This was after they already "confirmed they had arrived." I asked how that was possible since they actually confirmed with the warehouse that they had arrived and told me that, you guessed it, it "should ship this week." I asked again about a week later because they ignored the question. I asked again and again until they finally said it was because they can not accurately communicate with their warehouse about such things. I then asked why they would tell me that they had confirmed it then, if they could not actually confirm such things within their own company. They dodged it again and would not answer. They just offered to cancel my order and refund my credit card. I asked them what they would refund since they didn't have my credit card and I didn't purchase one or ever give them my credit card information. That was about five weeks into the emails back and forth waiting on the part. They literally did not even know what was going on or maybe just kept playing games instead of telling the truth. It was awful. They are so poorly organized and so evasive it's kind of infuriating. It's been since 11/2/20 and they still keep dodging and have not shipped the replacement part as of today, 12/15/20 for the part on my brand new almost $2000 bike, with taxes, the "brand new" bike repairs that it arrived needing and the $260 in shipping. Oh yeah, they charged me $260.00 for shipping it to me because they apparently told Opticsplanet they had to ship it "Freight." They shipped the other Savage I bought, the exact same bike in every detail, that arrived in the exact same packing system, from the exact same warehouse, to my same home address, within one day of each other, using the same FED EX shipping company and service and it somehow was able to be shipped without Bulk Freight for only $80.52. Neither shipment was expedited or upgraded or different in terms of speed or service used with Fed Ex. They just charged me $260.00 for one and $80.52 for the other. I guess no one thought someone would buy two of the same bikes at the same time from two different websites so therefore nobody would know maybe? In any case, they are awful products with a useless warranty and terrible, terrible ethics and customer care it seems. Run away. It will likely be faster than riding your brand new Rambo.
