Bought another pair for inventory

by Craig H., Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on February 6, 2018
I've had my first pair for about 9 months; love em. Decided to buy another pair just to keep when the first wears out. When I put them side-to-side, I was surprised at how new they still look despite wearing them a lot.

Fantastic sole for traction.

Uppers well made.

Toe-box allows just the right amount of movement. I'm between a C and D.

Seems to be built for a lower arch, which is perfect for me, but if you have to use an insert, there is room to do so.
Pros:
  • In description
Cons:
  • not Goretex
Best Used for:
  • light hiking, walking, trail running

Great versatile shoe geared toward technical approaches but good for hiking

by D l., Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on June 7, 2016
After trying 4 different shoes for an upcoming trip to Colorado, I finally found a light shoe capable of comfortable hiking, precise technical climbing, and amazing traction on all wet and dry surfaces. The shoe fits true to size although I could have sized up 1/2 size if I was looking for extra toe room. I was very pleased to find the toe box is wider than other mixed approach shoes I tried (arcteryx acrux fl, la sportiva eco, salewa firetail evo). It is "boot-sized" and although light, it is large enough for fist sized cracks but not much smaller. The laces extend far down the shoe to allow for precise fit for long hiking comfort to 5 class climbing. They are on the warmer side as well and take ample time to dry completely.

The sole design with megagrip rubber is the best feature. These have the largest climbing zone I've seen which allows for some impressive climbing. The midsole is stiff but forgiving, with medium tread and the heel has large lugs for avoiding slippage and digging into loose dirt/mud. The rubber sticks to absolutely everything but is also durable somehow.

They look great (blue version), perform great, megagrip vibram rubber is amazing, and they feel great. My only negative is that the lacing system uses unusual loops of cord for the upper eyelets that are slippery and make the lacing a little tricky. I also wonder about long term durability considering the amount of stitching. Great shoe, especially for those with wider feet looking for something co...
