To be honest, if you're expecting a major improvement from the Peregrine 13 GTX, then you'll be very disappointed.
Overall: If anything, it performs 95% the same because it's still light, decent traction for dry and slightly wet trails. The PWRRUN foam in this one isn't be as cushy as in their other running shoes but it's still solid enough. Just for context, I have back pain from years of lifting so I opt for shoes with more cushion like the HOKA Speedgoat 5s but sometimes it's too bouncy and this shoe is cushy enough to not cause flare ups in my back. But more importantly, it looks WAY better than the Peregrine 13 GTX which were gray and orange for men. It was awful colors. This is just black and in my opinion, much more aesthetically pleasing.
Waterproofing: Works well enough in Seattle rain which is light and frequent. If it's a heavy storm then you'll get by in a couple of hours but if you stand in the rain all day, these shoes will still get soaked. Don't also think about submerging these shoes in a river either, water will seep in.
Traction: Even though this is GTX, I'd stick to mostly dry rocky trails and occasionally some muddy paths if you can't help it. If it's icy/packed in snow and you're hiking up a mountain, then you'll definitely want to combine these with some microspikes. If it's not that icy but still slippery, then opt for nanospikes just in case.
Comfort: Very comfortable.
Sizing: It's kind of standard fit really. It's not as narrow as say Salomon an...
