As I mainly run less technical trails but with pretty much elevation these suits me fairly well. Soles doesn't bite 100 percent, more like 80-85 percent, but they bite fairly well everywhere. Good cushion especially in the forefoot that probably will make them adequate for a hiking a season after the running season. The heel cushion is fairly stable too unlike many other shoes
