Very versatile product
I bought this for a thru-hike of the JMT, and was very impressed. I hiked it in one of the rainiest seasons in recent history, so this thing saw its share of thunderstorms and even made it through a couple hail storms. It held up very well, no issues with durability. Other than my forearms, which are exposed with this poncho, I stayed very dry while hiking. The design was great to keep from overheating; air is able to get into the poncho unlike with normal rain jackets that are worn under your backpack.
The only issue I had with it is that in the worst weather when the wind kicked up I had t...

Another great Sea to Summit product
I purchased this to compress down a large mosquito net that I purchased for backpacking. It worked great and the light weight ultra sil didn't add a bunch of extra ounces to my pack. This would work great for compressing clothes in your backpack as well or in your suitcase. I'm actually thinking of using it for airplane travel to store and better compress my memory foam neck pillow. The heavy fabric carry bag it came in makes it bulky.

Nice and lightweight
These compression sacks do the trick and are nice and lightweight. When shopping for compression sacks, I noticed some add a silly amount of unnecessary weight. Despite being lightweight, it seems like it will be durable and hold up to long term use.

Starts strong but not durable
They need a better quality cinch cord. It wore through and snapped after a season of backpacking. Making it useless.
Nice and light but doesn't last long enough. Even more so with the price of them.

Good pack, thin & light
Good pack, thin & light but straps are as well which makes it very uncomfortable to wear if carrying anything of weight.

Lightweight
The payback for ultrasil is that tears easily, so upsize if it's a long trek. Also, the compression straps easily twist, but that's not unique to Sea to Summit. Finally, Sea to Summit has a long way to go to match the level of customer service that companies like Big Agnes/MSR etc offer, so be sure to buy from a 5 Star retailer like CampSaver.

best travel packing item
I was a month in Spain hiking the Camino de Santiago. My friend, who hiked the year before, let me borrow her Sea to Summit compression bags. They are the best thing to use when you need to compress a months worth of stuff into a tight pack, stay organized and help keep things dry when the weather turned wet. (I did use a poncho too on those days) When I returned home my friend got a huge "thank you hug" as I couldn't have made my trek without these. I loved them so much I went and bought my own set. I will use them for my next travel adventures!!
I will even use them when I pack my carry on suitcase.
