The bag is a great concept. Very comfortable and you can adjust the temperature. But like all sleeping bags it's slippery so when sleeping on a pad you can slip off. To cure this they put a sleeve in the back of the bag that slides over your sleeping pad. But the sleeping pad can only be 20 inches wide and approximately 2 inches deep. This disallows the use of any thicker pad. So if you want a thicker pad you're faced with the prospect of possibly slipping off a wider thicker pad, or using a filter pad that's not as comfortable. I've ordered a thicker wire pad for my sleeping style, and will try to update that works with the sleeping bag. But in general it's a fantastic concept because I've hated mummy bags since I was a kid!

Bought this after being impressed by the women's version purchased for my wife. Needed for six-day backpack trip in Yosemite and worried my 30F REI bag wouldn't be enough. Slept well on insulated NeoAir pad in bag's underside sleeve. Almost too warm for low elevation (7,500') August temps, but foot box vent was great for that environment. Was nice to sleep without quilt early in the evening, then pull quilt up snugly in the middle of the night as temps got colder. Great bag, super happy with purchase, only 8 oz. heavier than my 30F bag.

I just recently tried out my new Backcountry sleeping bag and it has lived up to all expectations. Being 6 foot I was worried that this bag might be too small for me but the large size was perfect. The foot hole was great on warmer nights as I could easily just slip out my feet when needed and cool off. The bag is light enough to take with you but the pack down size was bigger than I expected. That being said I should have guessed being the large size and all. I have yet to test it in colder temperatures but I get the feeling it will have no problems. As a stomach, side sleeper and toss n' turner this bag accompanied by a sleeping pad has really let me have a lot of freedom. One thing I do find restricting is the lower end of the bag tapers inward so my feet don't have as much space but that is likely to be found with most sleeping bags. A definite yes if you like being cosy and comfy with cool feet and are a messy sleeper.

Sierra Design did something pretty neat with the Backcountry Bed 800F 3 season sleeping bag. Besides the super warm Dri-down, the bag is warm yet light. The sleeve for your pad really keeps it all together. I got the large to fit a 25" pad since my shoulders are wide. I love not having a zipper, and the quilt-like blanket really allows you to curl up like in a bed. Good job SD! And good job Campsaver for having the best prices and service around!

I used my new Backcountry Bed 800F 3 Season Sleeping Bag this weekend and woke up sweating several times. I loved the various features, like the opening in the bottom to stick my feet out. The sleeve to insert a pad worked like a champ - the bag didn’t come off of the pad once.

I tries the mummy bags, way to tight for my use.
I love feeling I am not in a coffin, I use a small pack pillow and put my pad inside the backcountry bed, works great.

i just got the bag and have just tried it in the house. It is comfortable & I was surprised at how big the foot area is. This is great as I was concerned about having my legs squished together.

I have been trying to replace my heavier equipment and I am also a side and stomach sleeper so this fit the bill perfectly when looking to replace my old Lafuma bag. I also hate mummy bags and this is wider at the top than a traditional mummy bag but still narrow on the bottom. First time using down as well. Very toasty. I am exactly 6 feet tall and ordered the regular size which is 6 foot in len

If you sleep on your stomach, then this is the bag for you. It's very comfortable. I like how you don't have to deal with any zippers. The foot vents are a dream and comforter flap is awesome. There is no back fill, so be sure you have a sleeping pad. The bag is very light and compresses small. The ONLY thing that might be a problem, is if you toss and turn a lot. If you constantly flip from

Bought this bag because of the time it took to get in and out of a traditional mummy. Also being a side sleeper, it is difficult at times to get a bag to configure the way you want. It also needed to be light and compact enough to backpack. This is the perfect bag for me. Nothing could be easier, everything just seems to fall in place around you. I sleep cold and this is true to its rating. gettin
