Fits perfect on a 5'10" 200 lb frame. Not too snug, but not loose anywhere. I workout five days per week and consider myself of average build. Runner and weightlifter.
These wool bottoms are ideal for winter backcountry travel. They remain comfortable next to your skin and don't get stinky. I find synthetics, although they actually dry out faster, to 'feel' damp after exertion compared to merino wool. And they can smell after a few days of wear. Not so with these bad boys. Pair with merino wool undies and a top and you're good-to-go for the week. Smell-free and comfortable unless you get them...

Yeah it’s just the right amount for the price. However opinions are different. Like the plant based dye. Soft to he touch. Can’t wait to prove them wrong with my 250 weight thermals. Hopefully I’ll be warm.

I’m impressed with these bottoms- I have worn these outside in upper teens/ lower 20’s by themselves and stayed warm the entire time. Definitely a quality product, though it is a bit expensive, but still worth the money.

purchased these bottoms top with the Men's Smartwool Merino 250 Baselayer 1/4 Zip Top for a baselayer for cool nights camping/sleeping. They are very soft and comfortable wearing them around the house. Decided to try them out first - setting out on the patio for my morning coffee at 36°F while reading a book - with only the baselayer top and bottoms and some Smartwool socks. Still nice and comfortable after 30 minutes outside. Cannot wait to use these while out camping. Was concerned about the sizing given I am 6'3" and 190lbs, 34" waist - and typically require larger sizes due to larger shoulders and longer arms. Went with the sizes recommended on the Smartwool sizing chart and they are a prefect fit.
Pros:
comfortable and soft
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
hiking and skiing
