I have a snow peak giga power lantern. This lantern is so small that it is convenient to carry. However, the case was so small that I was worried that the globe would break. I feel very comfortable buying extra globes. I think I can continue to use the giga power lantern.

Glass can break; get a spare.
Had to order extra mantles for my Snow Peak GigaLantern and Campsaver (I'm starting to find more often than not) had the best price on the internet for a replacement globe. Although the mesh globe is durable and you'll have no fear of needing a spare the glass it waaaaaaaay better.

Break quite easily unfortunately, BUT ..
I broke my first one after 30 days or so from sitting on my pack or when I banged my bag into tree. Make sure you pack the lantern case safely inside your pack and not on the top/side pockets.
