Reviews & Ratings for Snow Peak Hybrid Summit Solo Titanium Cookset
— 8 reviews — Page 1
overall a great cookset for solo/duo backpackers, the pot is sturdy and light (though I somehow managed to dent mine) and sits well on a 4oz canister stove like the pocketrocket or similar. aforementioned canister and stove also fit inside the pot for easy travel. holds enough water for most 2 porti...

Mug is great for brewing tea, but its small diameter limits stability and usefulness as a cooking pot -- it barely misses being too narrow for use on MSR Whisperlite stove. A larger diameter pot-mug would be more generally useful.

This is a very simple small pot or a cup.but designed with an silicon lid and bowl. this lip could be use as the pot lifter, when the cup is very hot. Very nice disign. I think this is good as a cup but not as a pot. since it is too narrow to cook on a stove.
Pros:
Easy to use
Light,
Cons:
narrow

I have received the items and observed the follows:
1. Made in Taiwan;
2. No storage nylon sack;
3. Silicone items are loose fitted to the cup;
4. Titanium pot/cup seems to have good quality;
5. For discounted price, it is great.
Best Used for:
outdoor

As you get it
It is a very simple self contained ultralight cookset for those cooking couscous or ramen noodles type meals
The mug fits a pocket rocket or any gas head with a very focused jet, it is not good for the stove heads that spread out the flame
The silicone mug can be used for pouring off water to make tea, and then the rest of the water for freeze dried meal
Or use the silicone mug to insulate the bottom to hold the mug
The cover is a bit odd, and is again for holding but not particularly good as a lid
.
To make this work as a long distance cookset
I spent some real money to upgrade
I dumped the silicone cover
I purchased a 450 ml single wall mug that nests inside the larger mug
I purchased 2 titanium for the large 750 pot and the 450 pot
The small gas head and lighter and tea goes into the 450
So I have a full self contained cook kit
I can cook real food
Drink tea or coffee in a real cup
And eat oatmeal on the morning in the silicone bowl
.
So as it comes it works as ultra light, ultra simple meals
And as I have upgraded it functions much better for a long term kit

The pot is light as expected, has sufficient capacity for a solo, and fits and heats fine on my MSR Pocket Rocket stove. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the lid/hot pot holder works in both modes. I was disappointed that the silicone cup/bowl has so little rigidity and I would not try using it for anything that was more than lukewarm, unless it was firmly planted on a flat surface and emptied with a spoon. Lifting it to drink hot coffee strikes me as the definition of an accident waiting to happen.
