This cast iron pot is very thin (2.5mm or 1/10" thick), but they still hold a vast amount of heat. All edges are smoothened and the surface is also very smooth. It is so smooth that you can't believe it is cast iron. It also comes with silicon coating for easy cleaning and is a bit non-sticky. That's why this pot is very expensive.
Rinse the rice, soak it for 30 minutes with 1/2" of water on top of the rice. Then put it to boil, keep it under light heat for 10 minutes, then remove it from heat for another 15 minutes. You will get a tasty bowl of crunchy rice with soft core.
The pot is small and cute, will fit 1/2 to 3/4 go of rice, i.e. for a single person. You will need 2 if you want to cook for two people. You can put mushrooms or sausage on top of it while cooking.
You can also use it at home. But like other cast iron cookware, cleaning it will take some efforts: pour some water in and warm it up, wash and rinse, then coat it with vegetables oil. Since it has delicate silicon coating for non-sticky, abrasive agents or brushes should also be avoided.
The only downside is that it don't fit on Snow Peak Baja Burner (GS-400).
