I intended to use this mug strictly for backpacking, but find myself using it nearly every morning for coffee and becoming my favorite "mug". Double walls do exactly what they should - Maintain temps longer than wussy-single-wall-equivalents. It's a prized piece of my gear, and I care for it accordingly - I don't dare stick this into the dishwasher or microwave. You may be able to get away with
