I like to host backyard fire hangs at my place. I was doing it with a standard fire pit previously (aka a pit dug in the ground and rocks placed around it) and then a friend got a Solo Stove and I realized how much nicer it is having fires this way and I had to get my own. Now when people come to my house for a fire they have to get one of their own, too. We used to always have one side of the fire ring that nobody sat at due to smoke blowing in someone's face. The winds would change and people would keep shifting around the fire to dodge it and everyone smelled heavily of campfire the next day. There's almost no smoke when using one of these. The design allows for maximum heat efficiency as well. Just the other day we had a fire for like 2 hours and didn't even go through one bundle of wood.
Pros:
less smoke
more heat
less wood burned
carry/storage bag included
Cons:
size if you have to store it
price (but worth it)
Best Used for:
backyard hangs
camping where fires on the ground aren't allowed
Would recommend: Yes
