Although I cannot speak on longevity I have so far been please with the performance of this product. Though it seems too large for backpacking, using this wide-mouth container saved me fuel and the worry of burning my meal while setting up camp. Boil water, pour in Stanley food jar, mix in food stuffs and screw it down. 30 minutes later the meal is prepared. Keeps food piping hot maybe two hours (?) if I waited that long. definitely did not after five hours. these numbers don't bother me because I'm generally using another Stanley product for greater, long-haul liquid toting. I am pleased with the overall design.
