Calicozac's Review of Tenaya Tarifa Climbing Shoe

I think these are a decent gym shoe but I'm not convinced they're a replacement for my go-to La Sportiva Miura. They fit like a glove on a narrow-to-regular foot and although I feel a little room in the heel, I had no problem cranking on heel hooks. The laces are so long that I had to tie two bows and replaced them with shorter Sportiva laces.my main gripe is that there were the only shoe in my arsenal in which I couldn't stand on a tiny, slopey foot chip on slab. Size down 1/2 size for all-day comfort or 1 size for a performance fit.
Pros:
  • Comfortable fit
  • Stable heel hooking
Cons:
  • Laces are too long
  • Poor edging on foot chips
  • Maybe not the best for slab
Best Used for:
  • indoor climbing
