I bought this pad because it is one of the thickest pads available. I have taken it backpacking a few times and I have slept better than ever before. It does pack larger than other sleeping pads, and is a little heavier than others, but it is worth it to me to have the additional comfort (I used to pack 2 sleeping pads).
