I haven't tried in terribly cold weather yet... but I will say that I can sleep on my side on this one, which I couldn't say about the pad I was replacing. I actually get some sleep backpacking now. It is quite a bit heavier than other pads I've used, but they were not as insulated, as thick, or as nice! Worth it for some sleep.
