Comfortable, warm and lightweight sleeping pad
I returned my Therm-A-Rest NeoAir Xlite 2015 sleeping pad because I did not like the crinkly sound it was making. Not only was it super loud when moving around, but inflating it would almost always result in dizziness. Sure, you can buy a pump sack for it, but that's an extra cost for an already expensive sleeping pad. I paid $149 for the Therm-A-Rest NeoAir Xlite.
I was so certain that I would never get another Therm-A-Rest sleeping pad. After looking at other brands like Nemo and Exped, reading a lot of reviews and forums discussions, I couldn't find anything better than Therm-A-Rest NeoAi...

Snow camping success
Took my wide pad out with me on 2 snow camping overnighters in WA state and the pad performed admirably. Never felt cold and as a back sleeper who tosses and turns, and must start off in the side position first, it was super comfy and I never felt hips touch the ground.

We love these sleeping pads.
I haven't tried in terribly cold weather yet... but I will say that I can sleep on my side on this one, which I couldn't say about the pad I was replacing. I actually get some sleep backpacking now. It is quite a bit heavier than other pads I've used, but they were not as insulated, as thick, or as nice! Worth it for some sleep.
Pros:
- COMFORT
- insulation
Cons:
- Weight
- Price
Best Used for:
- cold weather
- Actually getting sleep

Super warm, lightweight, excellent!
I use the NeoAir XTherm as my cold weather backpacking sleeping pad and it works great! It's pack size is decent and it's warmth to weight ratio is unbeatable. The pad is somewhat noisy, as most are, but it's comfortable and I never find myself losing sleep because of the pad. Highly recommend.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Comfortable
Cons:
- noisy
Best Used for:
- Backpacking
- Camping

Always bring to the camp site
So comfortable to sleep at the camping site.
It is made in USA, great durable and reliable.
I strongly recommend my camping friends to use it.
But now it is out-of stock in the campsaver.
I hope it will be restock soon!

Go WIDE or GO Home
Neo X Therm Max is the best pad for warmth and weight ration out there. I just hated that it was so narrow I slid off it all night. I am 5 5 and average weight. The full rectangle shape means I have room to roll side to side, stay on my pad, AND keep my feet on the pad as well. Why don't more people talk about this. I thought wide was for BIG people or men.

USA quality
I have owned cheaper basic Thermal Rest pads made 20 years ago and have performed well over the years. None compare to my new NeoAir XTherm Max. This new light weight pad has outstanding an insulation ratings of 6.9 R-value! I opted for the wide 25" x 72" due to my 5'10" 235lb size. Plus I'm a restless sleeper so a few more ounces is worth a comfortable sleep. I also like how small it packs and includes a bag for inflation. The new valve looks heavy duty too. Highly recommended.
Pros:
- Light weight
- packs down small
- made in usa
- High insulation
- Wide enough for adults
Cons:
- Expensive
Best Used for:
- winter camping
- backpack camping

Where comfort beats gram cutting
I bought two of these in late spring in Colorado in Wide for my girlfriend (5'9") and Wide Long for myself (6'3"). Although more heavy and expensive than the contoured version it's become my go to pad.
Pros:
- COMFORT
- DURABILITY
Cons:
- Cost
- bulk
Best Used for:
- Backpacking

Excellent, warm pad
I bought this pad as a companion to my summer weight sleeping pad. So far, it is lived more than up to its billing. We got the max version. It is very comfortable. In temperatures down to the high 20s, we each were toasty warm on our respective pads (both the same). There have been nights in my 15° down sleeping bag that I have been cold when it was 35 or even 40° out (I sleep cold) when using my summer weight sleeping pad. With this pad, I feel confident that I could sleep in the 15 to 20° range comfortably. See the outdoor gear lab review of this pad. It is the real deal.
Pros:
- Very warm, spacious in max configuration, comfortable and packs small and light.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Cool to cold weather camping

Great sleeping pad
The Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm does a terrific job of retaining heat. Pretty much all of the mainstream gear testers have showered the Xtherm with rewards for the duration of its life. Overall, reviewers have given the Xtherm a 4.7 star rating. Pros: The Xtherm has the highest R-value to weight ratio in the world
