First pad I've ever owned, so I don't have a lot to compare to, but am very pleased with this purchase. Never wanted to carry the extra weight and use up room in my pack, but as I've aged, I look at it as a necessity. Took this pad out locally (midwest) last weekend when temps dropped to around 30 degrees and I slept great. This was on a pretty soft surface. The real test will come one night on a rocky surface, but I have confidence this pad will do great.
