Most Helpful Positive Review Trekking Chair
I needed a compact chair that would not make my pack heavy. The trekker chair is a great product.. light weight. good value.. comfortable and highly recommended.
Most Helpful Negative Review Read between the lines
I am recommending this product but only to those who really understand what it is. I thought it was a chair. It is really a cover that you use a pad to create a chair with. I had to send mine back. So not really sure how it works.

Most comfortable ground chair option.

by Micheal, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on July 5, 2024
If you want your thermorest to pull double duty and work as a comfortable ground chair option, then this is the obvious choice. As someone who is used to years of sitting in crazy-creek chairs at concerts and festivals, I can say this it a huge step up from that! If you're sore from the trail you might make a fool of yourself getting up off the ground, but it's definitely a comfortable and super lightweight choice when comparing it to a separate chair.

Trekker Chair

by SILhiker, from IL, United States Written on November 26, 2021
I just received this, so I haven't had it out on the trail yet. I've only tested it in my living room, but it seems like it will be a great item to take along, especially on a 2-3 day hike where weight usually isn't an issue. It sets up easily with my women's neoair xlite, raises my butt off the ground and gives me a fairly stable backrest. Much better than my bony behind sitting on a log. I can also see it as a wonderful thing if you're stuck inside a tent on a nasty weather day. If it works as well as it seems, it may even find a place on 7-10 day hikes.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • Easy to set up
  • not overly heavy
  • nice to have a backrest
Cons:
  • weight could be an issue
Best Used for:
  • shorter backpacking trips

A great, lighweight addition to cyclotouring

by FLTGear.com, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on March 4, 2019
Camp chairs really shine In circumstances where no other seating is available. I’ve camped in many spots (particularly RV parks) where even picnic benches weren’t around. And when an evening rain rolls in, forcing me to retreat into the dry safety of my tent, it’s a great benefit having a comfortable chair for reading or writing. It weighs less than a pound and it rolls up into an easy to pack 6"x21" bundle. I can strap this with my tent on a rack, or even stuff into a pannier.

It comes in two sizes, so you'll need to buy one specific to the size of your sleeping pad. It works with both my Trail Scout and NeoAir Venture, and I was even able to stuff an REI AirRail pad into it.
Pros:
  • Sturdy Construction
  • Lightweight - packable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • cycletouring

Most lighter Trekker Chair. UL best choice of the gear. You can use thin or thick mat for camping.
Therm A Rest is the best for mat and related products. The price is very low which compare with other online website.
Best Used for:
  • Camping

Really love this thing. Very light and sturdy too. I use half a Thermalite close cell foam pad in it.

I do occasional self support kayaking. Couldn't live without a camp chair. No weight or space issue. They will make or break a trip!

Light, tough, perfect.

by Paul the kayak, Written on September 10, 2013
I like to go on long term kayak expeditions (10 to 20 days), so I need to make te best of my gear and travel light. This just does the trick. Comfy, light and quick-drying.

Good quality, not what I thought.

by TheToe, Written on July 16, 2012
While this product is a good idea and good quality, unfortunately the execution is not what it could be. It has metal rods in to make it sturdier, but this just adds to the weight and makes it more cumbersome. In addition while the seat is ok, I don't imagine you could be comfortable in it for long periods of time. If I was to buy again I would look for one of those stadium seats with the back w
