Wish I would've spent more for a real roof rack
Came damaged (dented) from UPS. Decided to keep it anyway (for a discount from Campsaver) because I was planning on painting it and could fix in prep. Plasti-dipped it. Aluminum isn't super conducive for that as I've found. Corner seams aren't machined correctly which they should be for something at this price point but I'd seen other comments about this on-line so I was prepared for it. One of the machine screws wasn't machined correctly so I had to wait for a replacement from Thule in the mail (sigh). The only good thing is that its relatively light weight and isn't too noisy on the roof. IMHO, this thing is priced about $100 more than it should be for what you really get. I give it 2.5 stars but rounded up.

Great product, but two minor dissapointments
For perspective, this is the only roof basket with which I have experience. In addition, I purchased this product in preparation for a trip to Colorado in August. Since I am writing this review in June, it has not yet been properly tested by means of a long journey loaded with cargo. So keep these things in mind while reading my review.
I purchased this product after several weeks of rooftop basket research. Ultimately, I chose this product because of its sleek design and versatility. The ability to also mount my Thule kayak rack, (and other Thule products if I prefer) to the top of the basket via the T tracks was important to me. It is light weight and fairly easy to mount and remove from my vehicle. Once mounted, it is very secure. For storage, I mounted mine to my garage ceiling for easier vehicle mounting and removal. The instructions were fairly straightforward. It's basically a series of step by step pictures, but a set of written instructions to accompany the pictures would have expedited the assembly process. My only complaints thus far, and they are fairly minor, are the following:
1. I hear a slight (but not overwhelming) whistling noise at highway speeds. This noise might be related to issue 2. It might also be something innate to all roof baskets.
2. The black plastic corner joining pieces do not fit as snugly to the top curved aluminum bars as I would have expected from a Thule product. The result is about an eighth of an inch gap, which I suspect might ...
