Rainbird's Review of TOAKS Titanium 900ml D130mm Pot
If you are looking for a single person meal ultralight pot, this is one. At 900ml it is just right for a minimalist ultralight kit. The 130ml wide version is probably more efficient on a single burner ultralight stove as well. Having said that, and recommending it, I have returned mine due to the fragile nature of the thin wall titanium. Other reviewers, on various sites, have gone for this option for it's light weight, commenting that they are just careful knowing it's pretty fragile. After receiving the pot I determined that although my Sea to Summit Alpha pot (hard anodized aluminium) is heavier by a couple oz.it is also considerably more rigid and durable. I still need to be careful not to deform it, but it's a reasonable level of caution. With the thin wall titanium I could pretty much crush it in my hand like an aluminium can...literally. I am certain that in a very short time I would have a deformed (or crushed) titanium pot. In addition the aluminium heats more evenly than either titanium or stainless steel so for me the aluminium is the right balance of weight, durability and performance. If weight is your primary/only concern, the thin wall titanium pots can't be beat.
Pros:
Ultralight
Heats up fast
Cons:
Flimsy
Best Used for:
Backpacking
Lightweight travel
