Eagle's Review of Trango Rock Prodigy Training Board
I got this hangboard since it was rated highly on OutdoorGearLab.com. The hangboard's two main long edges have a cool variable edge size that gets progressively narrower further from the center. This is a really killer feature since it lets you dial the edge size to be exactly the right difficulty as you get more tired during a workout. These edges range in size from about .25" to .75", so I think most people would find this adequate. I boulder v6/v7 and sport climb in the 5.11+ range, and for me, the smallest edge really starts to get difficult after just a few hangs.
One gripe I have with this hangboard is that the sloper hold is too easy, though I guess I could make it harder for myself by just grabbing the sloper further down where it's less positive.
Another small gripe is that this board is pretty tall, and the 2 and 3 finger pockets are on the bottom. Since I hardly use those, I need to set up a stool beneath the board so I can easily reach the main edges.
Pros:
variable edge size
plastic resin feels nice
Cons:
tall and hard to reach main edges
Would Recommend:
Yes
