Perfect for tight tree lined trail mountain winter hiking
I have a pair of Atlas snowshoes that are great for open terrain with powder. But it was difficult to hike in tight tree lined, steep mountain terrain with them. I purchased the TSL Symbioz specifically for mountain hikes in New Hampshire. These trails are tight, tree lined and undulating. The flex of the shoe along with the nasty "raptor like" crampons offer incredible grip. The binding system is fabulous. I can put these on and take them off in seconds and they do not loosen up with the ratchet system. If you hike the White Mountains of New Hampshire or similar mountains in the Northeast USA, this is the shoe.
Pros:
- Excellent binding system
- Flex over undulating terrain
- Crampon grip
Cons:
- Not ideal for open field deep powder
Best Used for:
- Tree lined mountain hiking

Great looking snowshoes
Love the Symbioz Elite because it has a more compact profile, which keeps my gait natural and helps prevent my knee pain. Very easy to get in/out of, lightweight in my size Small and flexes with the terrain to help lessen fatigue. Easy to use heel lifts for mountainous terrain. Beautifully made; absolutely worth the investment in my winter sports gear.
