I bought this stove to use as a windscreen and a backup wood stove for backpacking. My evernew stove fits well when using as a windscreen. The extra weight is ok since it has two purposes, especially if the alcohol bottle leaks.

Light, small packing

Very light stove and packing small for hiking.
You can't feel any weight if you bring this.
The use of this stove is also very environmentally friendly concept
Saves weight and space without carry extra fuel

Opens up, snaps together around base, hinged opening to start and feed fuel(small pieces of wood),pot sits on top and boils water or heats food ( and cools down )as fast as any lightweight burner I've used.

Great, light, nature-fired stove

Being a bit of a gear-collecting nut, I've got six different water-boilers and backpacking/camp stoves. Vargo's design of this little nature-powered stove is innovative and practical, and lighter than any of my previous stoves. I love found-wood-powered devices: no need to pack in man-made fuel, fiddle with priming and messy liquids, no danger of canisters overheating and exploding, etc.
