Walt P's Review of Vasque Grand Traverse Approach Shoe - Mens

I have worn quite a few different shoes, and I love all the Vasques that I have had. I have slightly wide-ish feet, somewhere between wide and normal width. These feel maybe a bit stiff and not super comfy when you first buy them(honestly forgot until I bought my second pair). I didn't but the second pair because the first pair was worn out, I am just afraid that they might modify the shoe like they did with the Mantra. I have had mine for about 2 years now, most of the nubs have been worn down, but they are going strong! They are the most comfortable approach shoe I have owned. I have owned Salewa, which are more technical. I also have a pair of Arc'Teryx that are not as comfortable. They have thinner soles, so hiking on rough surfaces or landing hard on them is uncomfortable. I wouldn't call them technical, but I have used them for some approaches mostly just road-side crags with no more approach than 1/4 mile. I also use them as my everyday shoe(and they have lasted for 2 years doing this).
