great boot

This is my third pair of Vasque St Elias. Whenever I need new hiking boots I am hesitant to buy anything else because these have just worked for me.

I just wore this pair for the first time yesterday on a strenuous (very steep, wet, bushwacky) hike. I didn't have a single blister at the end of the day. They tend to be waterproof until they get old, but that's going to be true of any similar boot.

I have owed 2 pairs of Vasque Breeze boots over the past 10 years and I have always found them remarkably comfortable and durable. I am trying the St. Elias for increased water protection of the all leather outside. The St. Elias are a good bit stiffer but otherwise comfortable. I am looking forward to breaking them in and then I think they will be just what I am looking for!
