I purchased these hikers about a month ago to replace my beloved Mantra 2.0s. I have worn these shoes for two or more hours a day for about three weeks -- most of the time in hot, dry weather. Then it rained during two of my hikes and my socks got wet both times. Since the top of my foot got wet first, the design flaw seems to be related to the tongue/laces area of the shoe. I feel extremely disappointed and irritated at the poor quality! Beyond the obvious failure of the specified waterproofing, I found these hikers to be on the hefty side weight-wise, which made them seem clunky. I felt like I was plodding along when wearing them and I also got two blisters on my toes during the break-in period. Given these issues, the premium cost and seemingly restrictive return policy from Vasque.com, I cannot recommend this shoe.
