Much INPROVED; I had an earlier generation of this shoe and they didn't last long.

I would like to say first that barefoot shoes will cause planter-fasheitus pain if you are not use to them, so stretch that muscle-ligament if you are a beginner and if you feel pain give foot a week to heal. Once your feet become acclimated(could take 6mo) you will love them. Something special about the connection to the ground.
I think these will work out great, because they improved: side welt by stitching and gluing; shoe leather; black micheline soles; higher and better tongue; metal eyelets; lots of stability in the rear of shoe for the heel and ankle bone. I have not used them enough to know for sure on their ability to last many good treks. My earlier ones had gore tex and these don't. Lugs on the bottom are very deep yet the sole is very flexible so treking on larger rocks may cause bruises on bottom of feet.
