NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I wear these with socks around the house in warm weather because I don't like flip-flops or being barefoot. Per the website, I ordered a previous version of this shoe that was black with a white sole. Instead I got this new gray/obsidian bloom version. I don't like it nearly as much. My biggest complain is the tongue sits very low compared to my old ones and it pushes my socks back when I step in them. I'll be looking for something different next time.

For Ocean swimming/getting to the water from the sandy beach
Getting into the water at the shore can be a bit tough sometimes due to all the shell chips and pebbles and these help with that a bit. Not a perfect fix and not good on rocks but definitely helpful to prevent cuts from stepping on sharp shell fragments. Generally good for wearing out of the water as well but they are minimalist. No padding so if you do step on a rock or other larger objects they don't really help much. And no real arch support. I like Vivobarefoot in general but I know they are not for everyone. Depends on what you are looking for.
