Summer Shoe

by egregiousteej, from OH, United States Written on October 1, 2018
Pretty much spent all summer in these bad boys. Perfect if you're a fan of barefoot shoes and want to go sock-less--no stink, great for rainy rides or walks, and are dry as soon as you wipe down with a towel. I'm normally a size ten, but those were pretty large for me. Sizing down was perfect. These are great for everyday activity. I did take them on a couple hikes, and, as you might assume from the tread, the traction was pretty poor, especially once wet, so I'd rely on a more substantial shoe for more demanding excursions.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • waterproof
Cons:
  • None

Exactly what I've been looking for in a camp shoe!

by DanM, from CO, United States Written on April 19, 2018
I just received these last night. I found them after searching online for articles on the best ultralight camp shoes, and they were very difficult to find online so kudos to Campsaver for carrying them. I am headed to Iceland on a backpacking trip this summer and we will encounter some deep river and tidal crossings, so I wanted a shoe that I could use instead of my boots for river crossings, but could also utilize in camp at the end of the day. So waterproof, lightweight, quick drying, sturdy and comfortable were my criteria for a camp/water shoe, and these are exactly what I was looking for. Completely waterproof except for the cinch string which is quick drying, lightweight (my two shoes, size 42 Euro weigh a combined 400 grams on the dot), and extremely comfortable. I know they will be great for the river crossings, because they are sturdy (unlike crocs). But they will also be great for letting my feet air out in camp after a day of hiking. I normally wear a men’s size 9 – 9.5 US, depending on the shoe. The Euro size 42 version of this shoe is about ½ size too large when I am barefoot, but the cinch pulls it tight to your foot so it does not feel too big at all. Plus, I plan to wear socks with this a lot in camp and when I wear the shoe with socks on the sizing feels just right. If they are as well made as they appear to be, I will be using these for both camping use, and likely everyday use because they are so comfortable, for years to come. Awesome shoe! Oh, ...
