Out soles need improvement - Western Mountaineering Expedition Gore Windstopper Booties

(1) The outsoles are thin and not sturdy. I will need to insert a pair of my wool insoles to add warmth. (2) There's no down above ankles. I read many reviews before ordering them, so I was aware of what's good and what's not so good about these booties.
