Bansko's Review of Western Mountaineering Sycamore MF 25 Sleeping Bag

I bought this bag before I discovered Campsaver, so I'm not a certified buyer, but I've had this bag for about 4 years now and it is the best one I've ever owned. Why? Because it is amazingly versatile and comfortable. Forget the constricted feeling of a mummy bag. If you're a "sprawling" sleeper like me you'll love the Sycamore. It still packs small and light, so you're not paying much of a penalty for the additional roominess. Let's talk versatility. With two zippers, this bag unzips completely flat. In the warmer months I often throw it over myself to use as a quilt. You may even find yourself using it as a quilt at home every now and then. I know I have. I've owned a few other bags over the years, including high-end Marmots and another Western Mountaineering bag. They've all been quite good, but the Sycamore is probably the most useful bag I've owned for most 3-season ventures.
