I just received the Sycamore (Long, Left Zip) and already very impressed with the quality of the materials. I tried the zippers several times and no snags due to their stiff switched in anti-snagging strips (not sure of the technical name).
At 6', 220 lbs, the Long (6'6") bag offered more room in the leg area to spread out than the competitors "semi-rectangular" bags. My only reason for giving 4 out of 5 stars is the shoulder girth area needs to be 2-3" wider. I purchased the Western Mountaineering Bag Expander - while it doesn't really widened the bag - it creates about 4" of volume space ground to top. This is great for a side sleeper like me.
With the Sycamore bag, the expander, and the included stuff sack, the total packable weight is 2 lbs 10oz
Looking forward to trying out this awesome sleeping bag!!
Pros:
- Material quality
- Ample leg room
- Anti-snap zippers
- Zipper Draft Tube
Cons:
- Wider shoulder girth needed

First, I want to thank campsaver for getting the Sycamore medium length into my hands in less than two full days from the time I ordered it- impressive!
Also, since I have only had the sleeping bag for several days I have only slept in it once... so a more detailed review will follow as I get more time in the field with it.
But I would like to let others know that this is a very comfortably shaped sleeping bag and the materials are as soft and supple as they durable, which adds to this bags fit function and compressability.
I weigh 155 pounds and am 5'8" tall and have a medium build and have used mummy bags for my entire backpacking and climbing life spanning 40+ years.. lately as I rehashed my lightweight backpacking kit, I decided to add a level of sleeping comfort for my three or less season adventures. After wading through almost too many choices and several purchases which I returned, I found myself sorting through several Western Mountaineering bags I.e. The 25* bags and settled on the Syscamore.
Again, I chose it for its roominess- and now having tried it on, I really like the fit! I also really like its simple nature and generous amount of down fill and noted that all the chambers were dense with down. The zippers don't snag... the hood is very functional and it will double as a nice conforter/blanket.
Finally, the quality is obvious and worth the money and will last many years if given reasonable care and use! This sleeping bag will get used lots
Best Used for:
- Up to 3 season backpacking

After researching and researching and then researching some more I settled on the Sycamore MF. Finally got a chance to use it and if i could I would give it 6 stars. Great material, great loft, and great weight. I am a hammock camper and even with chilly wind overnight my back never got cold. Do yourself a favor and if you are in the market for a new bag take a long look at this one.

Had it out three times already, coldest night in the mid 30s. Toasty warm. Spacious. Great quality. Packs light. What more is there?
