Having had other carbon splitboards (Venture Paragon) I would say the build quality appears to be up to par perhaps better in finishing. The skis fit tight and the attention to detail is apparent. The tip and tail are finished well and is obvious here were my Venture was more "rough around the edges", however Venture builds here in the USA with a small crew which is awesome. This will be a more Pow specific board to pair with the Paragon which I'll use for longer spring tours.
Cons:
- Hope the top sheet holds up

The carbon backwoods is light, and that is great for long days touring, but its so much better than just that. Most splits just aren't longitudinally stiff enough for the wonkiest "jungle skinning." Like skinning over rocks, and ice chunks, and avy debris and such. The Carbon Backwoods kills it in those situations. It provided an extra level of precision skinning I have never felt before.
And its great on the downhill too! The reduced swing-weight makes jump turns feel ultra smooth and stable. It holds a great edge and is WOOBOY delightful in powder.
Highly reccomend

Ive been a magazine gear guide gear tester and avid splitboarder for a while now, and this board really stands out. It just excels everywhere you want a split too. Were all up there for the fresh perfect pow right? Check, slays it. But sometimes theres wind scoured ice, or refrozen avy chunder, or tight willows, or all kinds of variable gnar, right? Also check. Its stable, agile, confidence inspiring. Durable too!
Awesome splitboard, highly recommend.

If you're looking to lighten up your set up without giving up durability and stability in a split board, then this is your board. This is my go to split on those big days with lots of miles and vertical. The setback stance and shorter tail makes it incredibly easy to handle in tight trees and makes jump turns in steep icy couloirs a breeze. Powder is what this board excels in the most, from epic powder fields to cliff drops, the carbon backwoods split board will handle it all!

Picked this board up at a local shop and its a might fine quiver killer, not only does it slay pow but it rips in the steep couloirs as well. by golly it even rides switch well. With the weight savings of carbon you can eat that extra slice of pizza without regretting it!

What a sweet split. Light, responsive , and handles all conditions really well. Touring in the Tetons always presents adversity, and this board really delivers. A go to for the quiver!! With plate set up or traditional bindings, this board is a no brained for a light, pow destroyer!

As a guide and avalanche educator I have had my hands on a lot of different boards. The Carbon Backwoods is my go-to. Light, durable, nimble, stable. It has been able to handle it all from harsh split-skiing, to variable hard pack, to blower pow, to steep corn snow, I really haven't found a condition that the Backwoods can't handle. If somebody told me I could only choose one board to ride for the entire season, this one would be it. Sidenote: I am a Guide Ambassador for Weston.

This is my new favorite board - period. It is a pound lighter than the backwoods which I loved. This board blows it away. When skinning you barely even feel the board - it's nuts. I run a backwoods carbon 157 split now with spark dynos and atomic backland hardboots. The setup is insanely light and perfect for loooooong tours in the backcountry. I feel like this board add miles to my top distance. It rides like a dream - not too stiff like other carbons and it is holding up well. Super fun, responsive, poppy - highly recommend for experienced splitboarders looking to add some miles to their tours. Perfect for guides and hardbooters!!!
Pros:
- Responsive
- Super light weight
- playful
- baller
Best Used for:
- MOUNTAINEERING
- long tours in the BC

After riding many different carbon boards, I am blown away by the durability of this things top sheet! On top of that, it completely rips, and is a treat to skin with. Maybe the best selling point is that it is hundreds of dollars cheaper than comparable splits.
Pros:
- Weight, carvability, and durability
