Quiver Killer

by Husted Guiding, from CO, United States Written on November 14, 2019
This split has been the most versatile board I have ever owned... Hands down! It's a directional board with excellent torsional flex that makes smooth transition between turns and ideal for all abilities. The core and construction seems to dampen any rough condition you may run into and has an early rise nose that helps propel you of deep snow. Perfect all season board that can take you anywhere.

Wow! I need more powder!

by Wookie, from CO, United States Written on November 8, 2019
I swear this board almost travels back up hill. Just remember to size appropriately. If the situation involves gear weight, then the size backwoods can be similar to your daily driver. If simply an enjoyable powder day in bounds, slight down sizing can produce the most nimble day of tree riding ever. I was lucky enough to catch a demo day and was surprised when I rode the 152 in different condition. It was a pure pleasure craft.
Pros:
  • Float, Stability, Maneuverability
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Soft Snow and being on the Goooo!

Makes riding powder even easier!

by Nico, from CO, United States Written on November 2, 2019
This is an awesome splitboard on those big days powder days! The setback stance and shorter tail makes it incredibly easy to handle in tight trees and makes jump turns in steep icy couloirs a breeze. Powder is what this board excels in the most, from epic powder fields to cliff drops, the backwoods split board will handle it all!
Best Used for:
  • powder

A must have “ya dig?”

by Brendo, from CO, United States Written on October 30, 2019
This board split or solid is a must have. It’s great on the deep days to spring couloir season. the Board is one of the most agile boards I’ve ever road in the 22 years I been riding. And the edge control is impeccable making this board a dream in the trees. There are days I take it out and just rip groomers on it making huge s turns. Little weird switch but I like getting weird. You would think the tail is small for landing but it holds up awesomely and doesn’t slip out.
Best Used for:
  • Quiver killer, but pow, spring couloir season, backcountry

The Perfect Snowboard

by Alex, from VT, United States Written on January 28, 2019
After being snowboard tester for outlets like Transworld and Backcountry Mag, I found the Backwoods and it blew my mind. It has been my daily driver for the past three seasons, and I’ve ridden every where from the tight trees of Northern Vermont, to the Fjords of Iceland, to the Crested Butte Backcountry.

It’s rare to find a board that truly does everything well, but this board thrives in all conditions. It’s big rockered nose and tapered directional shape make this board surfy and fun in pow, while the camber between the feet and carbon stringers throughout mean this board is just as comfortable in steeps, variable conditions, and laying trenches on groomers as it is on deep days.

What™’s more is Weston has a reputation for building bombproof boards that can take a beating. Being on the east coast, I tend to be hard on my boards, hitting off rocks, and other snow sharks regularly. Other companies boards I have chewed up and spit out broken in less than a season, not the backwoods, still going strong after three seasons of abuse.

On closing, I’™ve recommended this board to a ton of my friends, and the response is always the same. “That board is incredible.”
