Yakima HoldUp EVO Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Two Bike Add-on

This entire rack is heavy. The base unit is over 50lbs and this one is in the 40lb range. I was originally planning on just keeping the 2 bike base unit on my vehicle and adding this extension when needed but it fits so tightly in to the base unit that I need to use a rubber mallet to insert and remove it. Not sure how feasible it is to constantly insert and remove this extension but it's also too big and heavy to keep the extension on the back of the van for my wife to be able to use the van's back hatch. Also when inserting this extension into the base unit, it scraped off lines of protective paint from this extension because it for so snuggly(not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing). I hope it doesn't rust because of that. I do really like the functionality of this rack and the no contact with the frame setup but the total weight gets to be laborious when wanting to raise and lower the unit. That may be a two man job for many, including my wife.
Pros:
No contact with frame
Easy to load/unload bikes
As a two bike rack it's easy to raise and lower
Cons:
Heavy
As a 4 bike rack it's very heavy to raise and lower
Best Used for:
Transporting any type of bike
Would recommend: Yes
